Followed to it one more incident also took place. Years later the ruler asked to demolish the gatehouse (padipura) of the church. As soon as the demolishing started the elephant of the palace (Kovilakam) started destroying the gatehouse of the palace. Understanding his mistake the ruler apologized and donated a perpetual lamp (Keda Vilaku) to the church and for meeting the expense of the oil the ruler gave permission to possess the paddy filed of the palace without paying tax.

Another miracle that took place during the colonial period in the 18th century. Tipu Sultan visited Kanjoor and decided to destroy the St. Mary’s church. People over there begged the Tipu Sultan to not to demolish the church. If he attempted to do so the saint will punish him. But he didn’t hear anyone’s words. He even tested the power of the saint. He looked at the statue and asked ‘if the statue has divine powers let it speak to me’. Soon the statute replied ‘won’t you allow me to rest’. Hearing the voice Tipu Sultan left the place without destroying the church. A Breath-Taking Trip to Kerala with my Friends

Life was moving at a usual pace, the normalcy of routine was the only thing that made us drowsy these days. We had just graduated from college and the only trips we (me and my group of four friends) made were for small meetups or for job interviews. We had one long free month before joining for our fresh jobs. We were all placed at different companies and we wanted to make some long-lasting memories before setting out for new roles in our life. All of us had different opinions and plans at first and after many hours of discussions, we concluded that a week-long trip to an exotic land is what we need. The next hurdle was choosing the destination but surprisingly all of us unanimously voted Kerala as our dream destination. We wanted to try out different things at Kerala and was in need of a solid plan. After a lot of research, we shortlisted some locations and activities that we wanted to try once we reach Kerala. We forgot about lunch as we were so immersed in finding places to explore. At Greenix, there was a restaurant too so we had some pancakes. There is a cultural museum and we visited it before the Kathakali performance started. It was a mind-blowing performance with all those micro-expressions and all. The costume itself made us wonder how rich in culture and totally a different land is Kerala. There are many beaches in Kochi and we could visit only a few out of it like Fort Kochi Beach, Cherai Beach and Munambam Beach. Fort Kochi and Mattancherry are places that hold the greatest spell in Kochi. There are many places like Princess Street, Burger Street, Rose Street, Parade Ground etc. that had a lot of things to offer. With many cafes like Pepper House, Kashi Art Cafe, Bench Cafe and all we could not leave this place for a week. The biggest part of our trip was spent at Kochi itself. We moved to No. 18 Hotel to explore places closer to it. We met some old friends of ours from Kochi and had a great time at the Cochin Club. A chance to visit the colonial building Aspinwall House was what we missed with the biennale. We wandered through the Jew Street too and bought many fresh spices to take back home. Alleppey was the next spot and the clean beaches were the first place we hit there. We could visit only Alleppey Beach and Marari Beach. Located to the southernmost tip Kerala is one of the most fascinating and charming travel destinations in India that is filled with the beauty and the richness of nature and greenery. It is mainly due to the popularity of the state as a fascinating destination filled with beaches that attracted me the most and thus planned my holiday trip to Kerala with Dream Holidays, a travel operator functioning in the land. The travel packages that they offered were both cheap and well planned or organised but as the travel package that I choose don’t include the travel expenses or the flight ticket from my home town to Kerala, I was all on my own while flying to the Kochi international airport. After a bit tiring long flight, I met the travel representative at the airport who briefed me with my travel plans and the destinations to explore for the day. It was just an escape trip to explore the beach and to enjoy the silence in the area so that I could get some alone time with myself. As my first day organised was just meant for refreshing and relaxing I didn’t have much of a plan for the day but by evening I moved out of the hotel to take a walk around the place. I went walking through the marine drive just visited the Mangalavanam bird sanctuary enjoyed the view at the place and the magnificent sunset at the drive. One thing that I actually noticed while exploring the place was that most of the destinations in the area don’t even charge an entry fee or the entry charge is very cheap and affordable. It is mainly due to this reason that most nature-friendly travel packages organised to Kerala at affordable and cheap. The next day I started with my tour of the place and listed below are some of the best beach destinations in the land that I explored at cheap and affordable rates.

Cherai Beach, Kochi

Located a bit too far from the Ernakulam town, which is the place where I stayed the day before, the Cherai beach is one fascinating beach detonation in Kerala. As the placed is least explored by the travelers and tourist the travel rates to the place was cheap and in addition, the accommodation that the place offers are also at pocket-friendly and affordable rates. Located close to the Vypin side this beautiful beach destination on short could be referred to as the swimmer’s paradise. The beach is one of the best spots for travelers and water lovers like me who are in search of a swimming detonation with the backdrop of coconut groves. The Cherai beach, in addition, is also known to offer the best views of the well known Chinese Fishing Nets or Cheena Vala as said by the locals. The place holds in a number of shacks that offers you with the best cuisine that fills you with the best taste and flavors of the land.

This fascinating beach destination also holds in a number of other attractions like the hells found in the area and the availability of dolphins in the waters of the beach. In addition, Kappil Beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Kerala and a perfect spot for travelers like me who seek solitude. The Chowara Ayyappa Temple that is located close by is one of the best attractions of the place and offers the travelers with the best and most fascinating view of the Chowara beach form the hilltop. The Azhimalathara Beach is located close to the Chowara beach and is said that the sea water recedes from the coast during the Monsoon.
