This time I took my family along with me to Kerala and guess what they were extremely happy with the entire trip. They literally fell in love with Kerala. It is said to have been built by the former Bishop of Kochi, Joseph Urethra. When you visit the museum you will be able to see that the museum is divided into 5 wings namely, Cathedral, Altar of Furniture, Treasure, Civil Life and Procession. The most priced and attractive possessions of the Indo-Portuguese Museum include the Coat of Arms of the Francis, Indo-Portuguese Monstrance and the Processional Cross made from precious metals like silver and gold. The museum is open for visitors from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm. The museum remains closed on all the public holidays. The entry fee is Rs 10 for the natives and Rs.25 for foreigners. Jewish Synagogue: The Jewish Synagogue is one of the most famous attractions of Kochi. The Jewish Synagogue also called the Paradesi Synagogue, was built in 1568 and is considered as one of the oldest Jewish Synagogues in India. The Synagogue was built by the Malabar Yehudan People (the Jewish Community of Kochi) and is situated in the Jew Town of Kochi. The synagogue is home to some very important and sacred relics and artifacts like the teak ark which consists of four scrolls of Torah, chandeliers made using Belgian glass, ancient copper plates, crowns made of gold and silver, a clock tower and carpets which are hand woven. Jewish Synagogue still stands as a mesmerizing wonder. The synagogue is open all days of the week from 10 am to 5 pm. It will be closed from 12 to 3 in the noon. We were woken up by the alarm by 7.30 am the next day morning. After having the breakfast we checked out of the hotel and met the driver so that we could start our family trip to Munnar. Filled with the true beauty of nature and blessed with a scenic and moderate climate Munnar is a literal heaven for families. The place could be a real hide-out travel destination for the travelers from Delhi because they could enjoy one of the best seasons in the place. Delhi in short and precise words is a place that is well populated and polluted due to which the climatic condition of the place is hot and humid mostly, the travelers from the state could enjoy a really relaxing and rejuvenating time in the travel destinations and the hill stations of Kerala where there is a moderate climate that prevails throughout the year. After a long drive of about 3 to 4 hours, we finally reached Munnar by 12.30 pm. As the drive to the hotel booked was a bit long and as it would take more time we decided to visit some of the best and must-visit travel destinations in the place which are located en-route to the hotel. Our family holiday trip at Munnar was organised for 2-days and on the 2nd day, by evening we wind up the trip. After exploring the fascinating attractions of Munnar we were taken back to Kochi from where we boarded the flight. The experience we had Kerala was the best and I would definitely suggest the place for a family trip to the south

We flagged off the trip on the 13th of November by around 8 am. After a long flight, we finally reached the Kochi international airport by around 12 am which was literally noon. As out a first place to explore was Kochi and as it was a stop-over destination I was completely fine with a landing at the place by noon. After getting the luggage from the airport the first thing that both of us look for was a cab and for our luck, we had a cab waiting in the stand. It was on our way to Kochi that the thought of getting an accommodation crossed my mind. As our last family trip was organised by travel operator we need not bather of the accommodation and such as the complete accommodation part was handled by the travel operators but this time as we were not accompanied by a travel operator it was my responsibility to looking for a decent budget accommodation. The last time I visited Kochi with my family, we stayed in a hotel named broad bean which offered us decent accommodation at a pocket-friendly rate so this time I asked the driver to take us to the same hotel. By around 12.45 pm we reached the hotel, after completing the check-in formality at the hotel we decided to take a small power nap as the both of us were really tired from the travel.

Later we woke up by around 3.30 pm with the alarm sound that my daughter set in my phone. By around 4 pm after having the tea from the hotel we moved on to explore some of the nearby travel destinations. As the hotel was located in the center of the city most of the travel destinations where close by. The first destination that we explored at Kochi was the Mangalavanam bird sanctuary. Located to the center of the city within the high court premises, the place was one of the best destinations where one could spot nature at its best. The place was mostly filled with mangrove plantations and thus gave an ambiance of a forest. The place was mostly filled with birds which are migratory. And thus it becomes one of the literal paradises for bird watchers. One of the other attractions in the place was the tree house from where you get to enjoy the best view of the forest and the plantations and the lake nearby. The place was one of the best spots where families could spend a refreshing and happening moment. After being at the place for a while we moved on to our next travel spot which was the marine drive. Like Mumbai Kochi too had its own marine drive that offered the travelers with the best view of the sea. One could see the beauty of the sea and the Chinese fishing nets in the area which is a sight worth enjoying. You could notice that it is mostly families that arrive at the place as you get to enjoy one of the best evenings seeing the sunset and tasting the roadside food in the area. Like all the others we too enjoyed a refreshing sunset in the place and then got back to the hotel after having the dinner from a restaurant on the way.

The next day morning we were woken up by the reminder call that we asked for at the reception. After refreshing, we got down to the hotel to have the breakfast which was complimentary. By around 10 am we checked-out of the hotel and then availed a cab from the hotel which was to take us to our next travel destination which was Munnar the queen of hill stations. Located to the western ghats of Kerala, Munnar is one of the most fascinating travel destinations that have always been one of the favorite travel spots for most of the travelers from around the world. It is a 3 to 4 hrs drive from Kochi to Munnar and we reached the place by around 12.30 pm. Instead of checking-in directly into the hotel, we decided to fit travel around exploring some of the travel destinations in the area and the check-in into the hotel by the end of the day. On our way to Munnar, our first stop was at the Cheeyappara Waterfalls which was en-route to the hills. The beauty of nature and the wild surrounding the hills is something that is admirable. Most of the traveler who was there at the place was families who were enjoying their day with their kids; the sight was worth enjoying altogether. After being in the falls for a while enjoying a bath we moved on with the trip. Our next travel destination was the eco-point in Munnar which was a place that was sandwiched between two hills producing the phenomena of echoing. It is mainly this natural phenomenon that is happening in the area that gave the place its name. With a small lake and valleys surrounding the eco-point was a perfect destination where families could enjoy some quality time together. Apart from the beauty of nature and the climate, the place also offers travelers with a number of adventures like boating, horse riding and more. As my daughter insisted on enjoying boating and horse rides both of us enjoyed the same. After being in the place enjoying some family time we moved on to our next spot which is the Munnar tea plantations. Filled with the gleaming beauty of nature and the tea plantations, most of the peaks in Munnar are filled with tea plantations. The place offers the travelers with the best view and a perfect spot for photographers. The climate and the mist in the area add to the mood. By the time we finished wandering through the plantations taking some pictures, it was already getting dark so we decided to check-in to the hotel. After a drive of another 45 minutes, we reached the hotel where we checked in and had the dinner after refreshing. As it was a trying day we slept real soon.

The next day morning we woke up by around 9 am. After refreshing and having the dinner we checked-out of the hotel BT 11 am. As it was our last day at the place we only had very few travel destinations to explore. The first place we went was to the Munnar tea museum which according to me would be a must-visit spot for all family holiday and travel packages organised to the misty hills in Kerala. The Munnar tea museum exhibited different verities of tea which starts from the white medicinal tea to the kid’s favorite chocolate tea. The both of us tasted almost all the verities and my daughter loved the chocolate so on our way back we bought a few chocolate tea bags and green tea bags. From the tea museum, the next destination that we moved on to was the top stations. Travelling for an hour we finally reached the top station from where we started our trek so that we could reach the viewpoint. Even though my daughter found the task very easy, it was really hard for me. Comparatively climbing down to the viewpoint was easier whereas climbing up was a real task. The view of the cloudy mist and the wild below was one of the best scenery that one can enjoy while at Munnar. It took us about an hour to climb back to the top station. The sandalwood forest was our last travel destination on the trip even though we didn’t have much time to explore the place we just had a small visit. By the time we started back to Kochi, it was 6 pm. After a very long ride back we finally reached the Kochi international airport by around 9.30 pm. From where we took the flight back home.

The place not just holds within the beauty of nature but also have a very peaceful and calm climate that helps us relax and enjoy the time with one another. Recently, I had a visit to Bangalore for an interview. Since I am from the capital city of Kerala, Trivandrum, my journey was awesome and I had some couple of my friends at Bangalore. After the interview, which went smooth, I had a meet up with my friends, sharing some cups of cappuccino. In our conversation, I caught up something that, even though the life in the IT hub of India seems interesting, jolly and enthusiastic, there is a darker side to it. Actually, my friends needed a change and rejuvenation of the mind. What I can suggest is a trip with friends or family, inflicting a feeling of ‘Out of the world’. My friends are actually beach lovers, so I suggested one of the top beach destination in Kerala, lying at my very own homeland, Trivandrum, which is Kovalam. It’s after my marriage that I first came to this beautiful place, the only thing that Jaipur lacked was greenery and vegetation which I missed the most. It was our first anniversary on the 3rd of November when we planned a trip to enjoy our second honeymoon. Living in Jaipur which is a dry city for a whole year all I missed was forest, mountains, waterfalls, and greenery. So we planned a trip one such destination with all the natural beauty, Kerala.

As our flight was scheduled at 5 am early morning we finished our packing and other preparations by 4th evening. The trip for the day would end with the sunset at Marine Drive. We started our trip for the day to our first destination Mangalavanam. Located in the centre of Kochi the eco-tourist sport was around 30 min drives from our hotel. We reached the place by 1.00pm. Mangalavanam could be best explained as an alien place within the city of Kochi as the place holds in an environment and ambience which is entirely different from that surrounding it. Located in the busy city the place is one of the most peaceful destinations in Kochi which houses a wide range of migratory birds which are very sensitive to human voices. One of the main attractions of the place is the thick mangroves which add up to the beauty of the place. Living in Jaipur for so long the place with wide range of animals, mostly birds and the thick mangrove vegetation seems more like an alien planet to me. After enjoying the nature and its beauty we decided to move on with the tour as per the plan.

Our next destination was Kodanadu Elephant Training Centre which was located about 1 hr from the city. After the long drive, we reached the place by 3.00pm. Kodanadu Elephant Training Centre is a well-known destination among most over-sea travellers who love nature and the wild. The place is known to house a number of elephants of different age and size which attracts the travellers the most. Special arrangements are made for the visitors to play and spend time with the elephants in the river. We saw a number of baby elephants which raised their trunk as they saw us coming towards them after pampering the babies for a while and clicking their picks we moved on to the river to enjoy a bath in the waters. After playing and spending some beautifully romantic moments in the waters we decided to get to our next destination as the sun was coming down.

We reached back to the main city by 4.45 pm and were taken to the Marine Drive which was at a short distance from the city. We reached the Marine Drive by 5 when the sky was reddish and the birds flying back home. Both the sides of the pathways were mostly occupied with small shops with ice creams and other things, we bought ice-creams to wail away the time. The sunset of the place was never like the one we used to see in Jaipur. As the place was mostly filled with monuments and buildings to see a perfect sunset as that we enjoyed in the place was never possible back in Jaipur. The drive was one of the best destinations for couples and honeymooners where they could spend an evening seeing the beauty of the setting sun. After enjoying the sunset we headed back to the hotel by 8 pm and reached the room by 8.30pm. After the long day, we decided to freshen up and have the dinner. We reached the dining after refreshing by 9.30 and after dinner slept off as we had a long day ahead.

The next day we woke up by 8 and after refreshing and having the complimentary breakfast we checked out of the hotel by 11 am. As we entered the cab we were given the tour plan for the day. According to the plan for the day we were to visit fort Kochi and then back to the Kochi international airport by evening as our return flight was scheduled for 10 pm. from Kochi, we reached Fort Kochi enjoying a boat ride by 12 pm. The Chinese fishing nets were the main thing that welcomed us to Fort Kochi. Even though we have heard of the beauty of the fishing nets in Kochi a number of times, being in Jaipur, we never had a chance to experience the feel in person. Finally, it was during our second honeymoon that we get an opportunity to witness the beautiful sight. Fort Kochi is a destination with a number attractions and history that is attached to the place.

Inside St. Francis' Church — St Francis Church

After reaching fort Kochi the first destination that we visited was The St. Francis Church. The church which was built in the year 1503 is a well-known destination for the beautiful architecture the place holds and is believed to be one of the oldest European built church in the country. The architectures of the place are one of the main attractions of the church. After spending a while in the place we decided to visit The Indo-Portuguese Museum, which is located within the premises of the bishop’s house. One of the main attractions of the place is its exhibits which belong to different churches. The museum houses the true heritage of Indo-Portuguese culture and tradition. Some of the most valuable treasures which are exhibited in the place include collections of the Civil Life, Treasure, Altar, Procession and Cathedral.

After enjoying and exploring the rich heritage of the museum we decided to visit the Fort Immanuel. The fort was built in the 1500’s by the Portuguese soon after their invasion of the land. The place narrates the rich historic story of the Portuguese invasion and the Dutch invasion. The fort was destroyed by the Dutch when they first arrived in Kerala. Now it is just the remains of the fort that one can see in the place. Some relics are preserved in the basement of the Indo-Portuguese museum. By the time we explored these destinations the watch showed the time 6 pm. by 6.30 we reached the boat jetty and back to the Kochi city by 7 pm. After an hour ride we reached back to the Cochin international airport by 8.00pm and back to our home after another 5-hour flight by 3 am the next day.
The days we spend in Kochi as our second honeymoon was the best days of my life. Busy with job ad tight schedules even Allen didn’t have enough time spent with the family or me this was the best opportunity for me to enjoy some alone time with the one I love.

We often don’t realize the value of mental health over reaching more and more heights in our career paths. Mental health is always important to develop as a human being. My Experience on Trip to Kerala !!

Travel has always been one of my greatest pleasures. Being a nature lover that is mixed with the love for photography, the God’s own nation that is blessed with many wonders of nature has always been on my bucket list of destinations to visit. When you think about travel you will never feel like you are ready. There would be a lot of things running through your mind. Like where to go? When? And how? All these makes you want to postpone your trip and the destination remains a dream still to explore. Kerala has always been my such dream destination.
