A Trip to Stunning Shopping Malls in Dubai

After a one week Dubai trip we were back. There are no words to describe the beauty to express its immense glory and magnificent beauty. Even though we returned back from Dubai my mind was still roaming in the streets of the city of superlatives. I was amazed by seeing the splendid wonders of human creativity and imagination. For a moment I just thought whether I have stepped into heaven. The city offers immense opportunities for common and rich people to enchant its mesmerizing charm. It was always my dream to witness the delight of the city. One day while I was shopping for Diwali in one of the famous shopping malls in Hyderabad I got a chance to avail of a coupon. Like others, I also wrote my name and phone number in the coupon and put it in the box. It is not for the first time I am doing this. Unfortunately, every time I used to lose the victory. But this time my little princess asked me to buy the coupon. And I really do not want to disappoint my little angel so I purchased it. The lucky draw will be held on the very next day of Diwali. As luck never stands with me I didn’t go to the mall on that day. I was very busy with my household chores suddenly my phone ranged, I picked the call. They just wanted to inquire whether it is me Deepa. I said yes. They said that I have been declared as the winner of the Diwali coupon. And therefore I have got a chance to explore Dubai with my family. For a moment I was not able to believe. I was shocked. When my husband returned from the office in the evening we went to the same mall and inquired whether the call was genuine. They replied it was an authorized call. My husband and daughter were overwhelmed with joy and thrill. We completed all the formalities of the tour package and got ready for the exotic trip.

We boarded a flight to Dubai International Airport from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. It was hard to believe that we have stepped into our dream destination. After resting for a while we started our sightseeing. Whoever steps into Dubai the first thing what they would see will be the famous skyscraper called Burj Khalifa. The infrastructure is known for its two stunning observation decks. It is also termed as the world’s tallest tower. Near to it is located the world’s second-largest shopping mall known as Dubai Mall. Along with Dubai Mal, the city houses many other eye-catching shopping malls. The following paragraphs will help you to learn more about the malls and their eccentric features.

We visited 2 prominent shopping malls and continued our exploration of new places such as Dubai Creek, Palm Islands, and Dubai Miracle Garden and also we participated in various desert activities in daub. After one week’s thrilling trip we returned to our hometown with sweet memories.

An Unexpected Office Tour to Wayanad

From morning till noon we all were behind our hectic assignments and busy with several files and documents. Everyone was feeling so hungry that each one was praying to lord to make the 10’o clock into 1’o clock. However, by 11’o clock we were able to quench our thirst by sipping hot tea (some had hot coffee). After working for 2 hours we were really tired as soon as the long hand of the clock reached 12 and the small one on 1 we ran to our refreshment room. We were in a hurry. Each one of us started unboxing their lunch boxes. The aromatic scent of delicious homemade foods took us to another world. While savouring the scrumptious delicacies suddenly we heard a beep sound. It was nothing but a notification of a message from my phone. I just got up from my place to take the phone which I had kept on the juice table. By scrolling on the phone I occupied my place. Seeing the smile on my face my friends inquired the matter. They wanted to know the reason behind my smile. I showed them the images of my friends’ honeymoon. The pictures were really amusing and lovely commented by my friends. Seeing the picture one of my friends had a doubt whether the place is Wayanad in Kerala. I messaged her whether his assumption is correct or wrong. Within seconds she replied yes. The picture which they clicked in front of the heart-shaped lake more popularly known as Cupid Lake was really amazing. Seeing her romantic photos inspired us to plan a trip to the same place in Kerala. But we all had a doubt whether the place is exclusively made for honeymooners. Our dear friend Rakesh told the district is considered one of the best tourist places in Kerala. Hundreds of thousands of tourists visit the state by availing of tour packages from eminent travel operators. As it is being a long time we had gone for a trip why don’t we select Wayanad as a travel destination of our office tour was suggested by Aamir? We all rethink on his suggestion and found his words as valuable. Therefore we presented the matter to our HR manager and he agreed for the same.

As our company was a start-up. We hardly were 50 members. Therefore we decided to reach Wayanad on a mini travel bus. And also travelling in a minibus is the best and cheap way to save expenses. We started the journey in the early morning. It took nearly 4-5 hours to reach the charming district. During our travel, we had to cross several hairpins. Crossing each hairpin gave us wonderful experiences. Usually while travelling through the hairpins, one will have the tendency to vomit or feel some kind of discomfort. Even though some of us had such feeling the aromatic scent from tea and coffee plantations made them feel better. From the beginning of the journey, we were very energetic and thrilled. We engaged ourselves in playing antakshri. As we had availed the tour package from the famous Gogeo Holidays their tour guide was there to accompany us. The tour guide was really very friendly. He shared much valuable information about Wayanad. He said that in olden days Wayanad was completely enveloped by tall trees and many wild animals. It was very hard for externals to reach the spot. It was during the colonial period that small sorts of transformations took place. Many eminent writers have penned down the amusing charm in their novels, stories, poems, and articles. More than the civilized people it is uncivilized people more commonly known as Adivasis rule this place. They are one such community in Kerala who show reluctance to adapt to modern changes. They are called a protector of the forest. While talking about the Adivasis, Rakesh asked about the story behind the Chain tree. Chain tree? We were surprised. How a tree could be named as a chain tree. We asked our tour guide to share the myth behind the strange name. He asked Rakesh does he know anything about the Chain Tree. He said that he does not know much. He got the name while surfing the internet as part of the tour the previous day.

Our tour guide told there is no myth related to the Chain Tree but a true story. The incident happened during the British administration. As he had aforementioned the district was fully forested to know the shortest route to reach the district once a British General seek help from a local Adivasi boy named Karinthandan. He showed the easiest way to reach the place. After understanding the route he killed the poor innocent boy so that he could acquire the credit. Years later Karinthandan’s ghost started haunting the villagers and visitors. Frightened people approached a priest and asked him to do something to get rid of the ghost. The spirit chanted prayers and sealed the ghost inside a tree using a chain. Over the years the chain started growing along with the chain. Till now nobody knows the science behind it. In the memory of Karinthandan every year local people conduct a rally by honouring him as the first martyr of Wayanad.

After hearing the story we were really interested to visit the place. The tree is seen on the Lakkidi highway. After visiting the chain tree we moved to Kalpetta over there we witnessed the spectacular beauty of cascading waterfalls at Soochipar (Sentinel falls), Kanthapara falls and Meenmutty falls. Followed to it we spend quality time at Chembara peak. It is the perfect destination for trekking. By availing the entry pass we started trekking. On reaching the top we enchanted the beauty of the amazing heart-shaped lake or Cupid Lake. The top view of the lake is something beyond our expectations. Over there we enjoyed the panoramic view of the Kodaikanal and Wayanad. As overnight camping is not allowed soon after the sunset we left the place. Before leaving the beautiful district we also visited the famous Sultan Bathery and Edakkal Caves. The cave comprises the inscriptions of Neolithic age. We clicked photographs at Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary.  After 2 days of the trip, we returned back to our hometown. The stunning beauty of Wayanad is beyond the words. If I get a chance I will definitely visit the place again.

The Miraculous Stories that Made Me a Strong Believer of St. Sebastian of Kanjoor

Don’t ever think that lying at the bottom of the country; Kerala will remain unpopular among the Indians. More than any other Indian state Kerala has made a special place in the hearts of not only Indians but also of foreigners. I have been always surprised by what may be the reason behind such large popularity? Later I realized that it may be the colourful festivals and unique culture and traditions. And it is true. The state is blessed with 14 districts and each district is known for its dazzling festivals. Irrespective of the religion and creed all the natives together celebrate the occasions in a grand way. Thus make the state different from other places in the country. It is being a long time since my mother was wishing to attend the famous church festival of St. Sebastian at Kanjoor church located in Ernakulum district in Kerala. I just asked her where she heard the name and what the peculiarity of the church is. She asked me whether I remember the day when my cousin (i.e. my mom’s nephew) told me about the church and the miracles happened over there. I said I don’t exactly remember what he said but I know that he is permanently settled in Kanjoor with his family for years. She said every year the St. Sebastian’s festival takes place in the month of January in St. Mary’s Church at Kanjoor. She also said that the saint is very powerful. I was amazed at how he could be powerful when the main deity of the church is Mother Mary. And I also asked her to share any of the stories if she was able to recollect from her memory. Oh! Why not I will definitely she replied (from her words I understood she was desperately waiting for someone to share the stories as she got me she was very happy).

The famous St. Mary’s Church at Kanjoor which is located on the banks of Periyar River was built in the year AD 1001. Even though it is a Christian pilgrim centre the church was constructed in an ancient Hindu archaeological style. It also has copied the designs from Indian, Persian and Portuguese artworks. The sanctum of the church was made out of gold dust, fruit pulp, and rare plant leaves. The mural paintings of the Nativity, the Annunciation, Blessed Virgin Mother, the offering of Lord Abraham, the presentation of the Lord in the Temple and the Ten Commandments to Moses add beauty to the church. Apart from this the church also has a rare collection of paintings, manuscripts, and antiques. I asked her how could she describe the beauty of the church has she ever visited the famous pilgrim. She said during her school days, she visited this mesmerizing church with her siblings. During those days the travel to the church was a little horrible and it took long hours to reach the destination. The journey has now become easy. Nowadays people from various parts of the world visit the splendid pilgrim shrine by availing of tour packages from the famous Dream Holidays travel operators in Kerala. They curate the packages by inculcating the price of air tickets for travellers to visit the Saint of Kanjoor also known as Kanjoor Punyavan.

There were many incidents took place in the history of Kanjoor that highly reflected the miraculous power of the St. Sebastian. Out of the several incidents, only two stories have gained much popularity. She started explaining the story. Years back on the day of the festival the famous ruler of the local kingdom named Sakthan Thampuran made a visit to Puthiyedam Kovilakam in Kanjoor. He was deeply immersed in a conversation with family. At that time the fireworks from the church interrupted his conversation and made the ruler furious. Angry ruler commanded his warriors to throw all the saluting mortars (Kathina Vedi) into the river. The warriors did accordingly. After returning to the mansion the mortars started bursting. The furious ruler scolded his disciples for not obeying his commands. They said they never disobeyed his words and asked him to go near to the river. By seeing the mortars bursting in the river he realized his mistake and went to the church and paid obeisance. He offered Elephant Lamp (Ana Vilakku) made out of from an alloy of five metals (Pancha Loha).

Followed to it one more incident also took place. Years later the ruler asked to demolish the gatehouse (padipura) of the church. As soon as the demolishing started the elephant of the palace (Kovilakam) started destroying the gatehouse of the palace. Understanding his mistake the ruler apologized and donated a perpetual lamp (Keda Vilaku) to the church and for meeting the expense of the oil the ruler gave permission to possess the paddy filed of the palace without paying tax.

Another miracle that took place during the colonial period in the 18th century. Tipu Sultan visited Kanjoor and decided to destroy the St. Mary’s church. People over there begged the Tipu Sultan to not to demolish the church. If he attempted to do so the saint will punish him. But he didn’t hear anyone’s words. He even tested the power of the saint. He looked at the statue and asked ‘if the statue has divine powers let it speak to me’. Soon the statute replied ‘won’t you allow me to rest’. Hearing the voice Tipu Sultan left the place without destroying the church. And the incident has been mentioned on the walls in front of the church.

After hearing the inspiring stories of Saint Sebastian, I now became a great devotee of him. More than my mom it is now me who desperately wants to visit the church. I told her to avail of the cheap and best tour packages to Kerala as soon as possible so that we could visit the church. But she asked me to wait until January. I asked why to wait for January. She told every year on January 19th and 20th the festival of St. Sebastian commences. And on 20th January after 2nd Holy mass, an eagle flies and it is considered as a glorious moment. I told her that I am going to book the packages for January in advance.

A Lunch with my Brother-in-law on a fine Sunday

As usual, I woke up at 6 am in the morning; you might be thinking what is there to mention if the activity is a daily routine. It was not like an ordinary working day. As Sunday is declared as a national holiday in all the countries except in the Middle East regions, I was not willing to wake up early because I really wanted to compensate for all my pending nights of sleep. But my mother is a strong Christian believer that forced me to attend the morning holy mass. During the mass when the priest asked to handover all your prayers to almighty I will be the only person who prayed to somehow ask the priest to end the service. Soon after the holy mass, I ran to my house. Over there my granny was desperately waiting for me with a list of unending household chores. I was so angry that I didn’t respond to her. By that time my parents reached home and I inquired what’s happening in our house is there any special program being organized which I am unaware of? As I had already lost my temper they didn’t test my patience and answered my question. They told me, they had invited my cousin who recently got married to a sales manager working in Dubai and they had informed me about it a week before. I was also asked to recollect about it with a cool mind. Followed to it my mom served the breakfast and called me for savouring it. After seeing my favourite ‘up puma’ on the table my mind was delighted and I started conversing with my family in a normal mood. While having breakfast we all used to share all the incidents that happened in the last week. Sometimes our conversation used to prolong for hours. But on that day my dad reminded me to wind up the discussion as our guest would arrive soon for lunch. Soon after breakfast, I assisted my mom and granny while my little brother helped my dad. After the preparation of the starters, we finished all our kitchen chores and moved to change our dresses. By 11 am our special guests, Sandhya and Rajeev arrived and my dad asked to serve the fresh juice which we had prepared for them. As I am afraid of carrying the tray with glasses, I didn’t move from my position. So I was staring at my mom. We all know that if the beginning is bad everything will be bad. Again my dad asked to serve the juices this time he specified my name. As my dad is short-tempered I did not want to spoil my good impression in front of my new brother-in-law I soon ran to the kitchen and returned with the tray. My brother-in-law was very friendly and generous understood my discomfort and asked to place the tray on the table. I smiled at him with gratitude.

My cousin (whom we call ‘Akka’) introduced each of us to her husband (whom we call ‘machaan’). Without any starting trouble, he mingled with us as he knew us from years. My dad inquired about his works and Dubai life. Meanwhile we three young girls (I, mom and granny) of our house served all the dishes on the dining table. My granny invited them to the table by interrupting their conversation. It was for the first time he tasted the south Indian foods prepared in Coimbatore style. He was pleased and praised my mom and granny for their exceptional talent. While having lunch he inquired me and my brother’s studies and our ambitions too. He asked whether we were willing to visit the dazzling Dubai city. By looking at our dad we said he must grant permission. All of us laughed at it. My mom always wished of visiting the place as we don’t have any close relatives and friends over there we never planned the tour. What is the need for seeking help from your relatives and friends when you can avail of the packages from the travel operators at cheap rates, asked by machaan? My thampi (little brother) asked him what is there to see in Dubai. Rajeev machaan replied by asking what you know about Dubai. Thampi answered by saying the city is famous for its hot sandy deserts and many eye-catching skyscrapers built for business purposes. As a support to my thampi, I also said that the city is not a place worth to see as it always concentrates on constructing tall towers only to become a superlative city and not to win people’s minds.

Dubai Tour Packages from Hyderabad

He smiled and told us it is high time to change our thoughts. Whatever new thing they are constructing it is always focused on human beings’ welfare. I then asked him to explain the purpose of building Burj Khalifa, according to me it was constructed only to gain the fame of becoming the only city of carrying the tallest tower. He patiently explained to me and said the tower was constructed not only to become famous but also it helped mankind to view the whole city just by standing in the observation deck. Or else one will have to seek the help of a helicopter that a common man could not afford. With its construction, it provided thousands of job opportunities to several people. Oh! The city is concentrating more on technology and urbanization rather than conserving the environment, which was asked by my granny. To her question, he asked another question to her. Is it possible to view thousands of varieties of flowers and aquatic organisms under a single roof? Grandma said it is impossible to imagine. But nothing is impossible for Dubai. Dubai Miracle Garden and Dubai Aquarium and underwater zoo are the perfect examples for it. By constructing all these, the authorities would be relaxing now, right? I asked him. He replied, am absolutely mistaken. Dubai is not like any other city. It is not only the land of opportunities (as I early mentioned) but also a land of boundless creativity.

As part of promoting tourism and economic development, the city has proposed several projects and a few of them are at its finishing line. One of them is Bluewaters Island. It is a man-made archipelago built on Jumeirah Beach. The island will comprise of residential areas, beverages and there are two specialities which make the island unique. One is the driverless car and another is the giant wheel named Dubai Eye. It is taller than London’s giant wheel. Riding on the Dubai Eye one could witness the illuminating Burj Kahlifa. Isn’t it wonderful? He continued by asking do we remember the famous place Venice (a commonplace in Shakespeare’s plays). The city is going to build a floating Venice. It is termed as “the world’s first luxury underwater vessel resort.” One of the decks will be under the water. The days are not far when the well-renowned Burj Khalifa will gain the 2nd position. Dubai is going to build another skyscraper taller than Burj Khalifa. They have named it as ‘The Tower’. Looking at my dad’s and thampi’s bulged tummies he said Dubai is going to construct a tower. If one who wants to reach the bottom of the tower will have to climb up 500 steps. By walking twice uncle’s and thampi’s extra fat will be lost, he replied with a smile.

Dubai Tour Packages from Pune

I was so curious to know more about the future projects of the city. Rajeev machaan said it is not easy to share all the information about Dubai projects. To learn more about it, he asked us to avail of the tour packages to Dubai for Christmas holidays so that we could participate in the world-famous Dubai Expo 2020. When he was working in Hyderabad some of his friends purchased the packages from Dubai Tour Trawell and commented with excellent feedback. He also added that their hospitality services are really outstanding. We were so immersed in the talk that we forgot to serve the desserts as we all finished meals an hour before. My mom offered twice the desserts only to Rajeev machaan. By seeing the special preference he asked is it the fees for the information he shared. Hearing to it we all laughed.

The Dazzling Munnar After Devastating Floods

Kerala the ‘god’s own country’ has always been on the top list of most sought tourist destinations. The pristine beaches, tranquilizing backwaters, amazing biodiversity, historical monuments and many more lure the hearts of travelers across the globe. Each season has something new to gift its visitors. Many eminent writers have penned down the stupendous beauty of the state through poems, essays, novels, and articles. It always was being my dream to visit the tourists’ spots of the state. Many of my friends had visited the hotspots like Munnar, Thekkady, and Kollam and used to showcase the photographs clicked over there. Seeing those lovely pictures I used to feel very sad about not being part of it. Each time we plan a trip to Munnar some unexpected emergencies would hinder it.

But this time we decided to spend a few days in the misty mountains of Munnar. For that, we searched for the best travel operators that curate exceptionally good tour packages to Kerala. We were in search of such a tour operator who would be ready to take care of us and make our trip memorable. It was our friend who suggested the name of Gogeo Holidays. They are the only travel operators in my knowledge who inculcate the price of air tickets with the package and this specialty is what we liked very much. And also Gogeo Holidays are one of the best travel partners in Kerala. As we were basically hailing from Hyderabad we were really unfamiliar with the language and lifestyle of the Kerala people, availing their services will definitely help us and the same was reported by our friends. Many of us asked to drop the plan as the previous year, 2018 the state had faced one of the disastrous rainfalls which took the lives of many living beings. Most of the routes to the tourist spots were completely damaged and the state had to face a big financial loss. With a few months of rigorous hard works the state started to recover but again in 2019 the state faced the same kind of rainfall but not with that intensity as the previous year. Even we thought of dropping the plan but the tour coordinators of the Gogeo Holidays assured us there would be no issues and our traveling would be safe.

kerala tour packages

After the 2019 flood, we availed of the package to Kerala during the puja holidays. We boarded a flight from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad to Cochin International Airport in Kerala. As informed, the tour coordinators were there to receive us with a warm welcome. From there we proceeded to Munnar in a private cab. The road to Munnar was good in condition except with a few potholes here and there. Our journey comprised of many hairpins also. While covering the hairpins we saw many people coming back after visiting the famous hill station, Munnar and with a smile on their faces. As we reached Kerala in the early morning we didn’t have to face much traffic and could reach the spot with 3 hours. The Munnar hill station is situated in the Idukki district. The moment we reached the resort the people over there received us with warm greetings and handed over the keys of our rooms. After relaxing for an hour we got ready for sightseeing. The place which we were taken first according to the tour package was to the thick green plantations of tea. The spectacular arrangement of tea leaves touched our hearts deeply. The aromatic scent of the tea leaves took us to another world. Over there we saw many foreigners who came there to celebrate their romantic days. Apart from western people we also interacted with people hailing from different states of India. I and my sister indulged in plucking tea leaves with female workers by carrying a long basket.

From there we moved to Mattupetty dam. Over there we were engaged in boating. For the first time, we were seeing people boating in a dam!!! Travelers who visit this iconic destination would definitely avail of the boating service. One could also capture the splendid view of nature while boating inside the dam.  Followed to it we savored mouth-watering dishes prepared in traditional Kerala style. By the evening we reached the Eravikulam National Park to observe the various rare species of animals and birds. Also, it is home to Strobilanthes flower (known as NeelaKurinji flower in the Malayalam language). It is a lavender-blue colored flower which blooms once in 12 years. It last bloomed in September 2018 but due to hazardous flood, the number of tourists declined rapidly. Most of the animals were unknown to us and our tour guide who accompanied us explained all the important information about the species including their lifestyles.

We trek to the Nilgiri hills and clicked the beautiful picture of Nilgiri tahr. We really had wonderful family time on the hill. As it was getting darker we were asked to return back to the resort. On reaching the resort we filled our tummies with delicious Kerala foods served in hot.

Kerala trip plan

The next day also we continued our sightseeing in Munnar. I and my sister had a great time at the Echo point. Not only we but many newly married couples and lovers were calling out each other’s names. In between sightseeing, we also did the shopping. Our mother was busy collecting homemade tea powders in various flavors and also chocolates, spices, and many more things. I and my sister were busy collecting ornaments made out of shells and various showcase items. How could we end our shopping without buying a gorgeous hat? Our dad was engaged in a deep conversation with the local farmers for understanding the various methods of farming.

cheap and best kerala tour packages

After spending one more day in Munnar we packed our bags to our home town. After visiting the place we understood most of the news which we heard about the Munnar were only exaggerated form. Such news badly affected the tourism of Kerala and also the income of the common vendors. However, the trip to Kerala really gifted loads of memories to be cherished in our free time. Once again I would like to thank our travel partner Gogeo Holidays for making our trip an outstanding and marvelous.
