6 Must-See Attractions of Ross Island in Andaman That You Shouldn’t Miss to Visit

Due to the occidental names given to the islands and other places of the archipelago, at least some of you should have pondered over the reason behind them. Well, the cause for such a nomenclature can be given in a single sentence, they nothing else than the British invasion. Just like these colonial powers had a great influence on the mainland, both commercially and later politically, they also had control of the isolated land thousands of kilometers across. Because of which the British had built various monuments in its capital and most of them were centered on the neighboring Ross Island. And within no time it was a full-fledged township. Even if you are visiting them now, you could visit historical sites that have got to narrate various stories of its gruesome past. Given below are the must-see attractions of Ross Island in Andaman that can be visited while you are vacationing in the magical islands.

Penal Colony

British had a special concern for this densely forested region, which was ironically located not much far away from the then capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The island was their headquarters until an untimely earthquake way back in 1941. So they had established the most crucial penal colony in the island, where the revolutionaries from the mainland were imprisoned. The then colonial masters had opted for these particular islands for making their most opposing rebels aloof from their homeland in India. British deemed this thick forest covers perfect for establishing a prison out of their secluded settlement. It might be shocking for you to accept that the prison used to accommodate as large as 200 inmates at a time in jail. The relics of one of the cruellest prisoners can still be seen in the former British penal colony. Besides, you could get to catch a glimpse of various tunnels that were used in the previous century.

British Colony ruins

As cited earlier, there had been a full-fledged township existing in the erstwhile Ross Island. Until the havoc of earthquake had hit, the British invaded landmass had its bakeries, market, hospital, open-air theatre, workshop, secretariat, cemetery and even a water distillation plant! However, now if you stroll through these once-bustling streets, you will only find the ruins of these British colonies. Fortunately, one of the successfully functioned Farzand Ali Store is now altered into a museum. It showcases the old photographs of significant monuments and how life had been in the islands of Andaman. However, the most astonishing part would be the part, which says that there had been tram lines in Andaman built by the British.

Japanese Bunkers

You might stumble upon these unnatural structures on the shores of Ross Island and nearby places that have got some untold stories of foreign occupancy to disclose to the tourists. It goes like this. Other than the British, the Japanese too had attempted to establish their colony in the Andaman and Nicobar Island. For the very same motive, they had sent their military troops to the shores of Ross Island. And for some period during World War II, they had succeeded in their venture by throwing out British from the islands. In the meantime, they had built various bunkers, tunnels and cannon sheathe. Moreover, this particular landmass was used as a war settlement. Even now, while you are strolling around certain historic spots on the island, you get to see these rectangular shaped bunkers.

Light and Sound Show

They are yet another informative show conducted in the former capital of Andaman. If the most popular of such kind of show is organized at a former Jail in Port Blair, meanwhile, here at Ross Island, it is at a yesteryear bakery. The show would cover the elucidation of the history of the island and later be clarifying you with the point of how the island and the nearby landmasses had acquired the present topography and the social setup. Furthermore, their narration by noted lyricist, Gulzar had been made more interesting with well-equipped surround sounds that would make anyone feel patriotic. Moreover, the histories elucidated here would comprise of the heroic deeds done by the martyrs of freedom struggles. To witness the thrilling light and sound show, you have to stay at the island until late evening. So for your travel back to the place where you are staying in you may ask your operator to make certain corrections in your preferred tour packages.

Ferar Beach

Solitary beach
Solitary beach

Not many would have heard about this unexplored beached situated at the corner of Ross Island. Tourists would hop into this abandoned island, sightsee the old British ruins and return. But rarely they do visit the Ferar beach of Ross Island, that is less popular than its counterpart in Havelock and Neil Island. And if you are visiting the seashore lined up with numerous coconut palms and its soft laden cliffs, they would be offering you a unique experience. You could enjoy the rustic beauty of those stronger waves with lashing the golden sands by sitting on its side. Besides, you could gaze at the irregular plain stones spread across the Ferar beach that create beautiful ripples in the pristine waters when the waves hit them. Moreover, if you wish to engage in any adventures at this beachfront, you may hike up its supple trails.

Presbyterian Church

Andaman nicobar tour packages

The protestant church established around 100 years ago in the island invaded by the British power can be said to be still reviving its past glory, even many of its parts were dilapidated by both manmade and natural disasters. The English religious centre was built largely of stone and some wood.  Besides, Italian glasses were installed as the major panes just beneath the altar of the Presbyterian Church. Apart from the major building, you could also get to see the structure that was dwelled by the church’s parsonage. You may note that the timber woods used for molding the window frames are neither of Andaman Islands nor of Indian origins, but was brought from Myanmar.  It had helped to sustain the basic foundation even after a century of mishaps, unlike the landmarking St.Andrew Church of Bangalore. The latter is yet another Presbyterian Church, which had weakened in the recent year’s deluge, even after occasional renovation works.

The monuments that you get to spot here not only do impress just the history buffs but for anyone just curious to know about what had happened in the past to these parts of the country. Above all that, you would be feeling that you are at the lap of nature when exploring those ethereal beaches and magical turquoise blue sea waters of the Andaman Islands. For the very same purpose, you will be required to visit those enchanting beach destinations all by yourself. Andaman Tour Travel arranges exciting trips to those places at incredible prices. Spending a day out with your family could bring you happy, no matter whichever place you are a, whether it is your home or a beautiful family picnic spot. Nevertheless, if the chosen spot for your family picnic is Vellikkeel in Kannur, the things you are going to experience would something exceptional. Vellikkeel is situated around 17 km distances from the Kannur, away from the hustles and bustles of everyday stressful life. In addition to that, in this recently renovated Eco-tourism centre, the visitors could get engaged in numerous exciting activities. All characteristics make the perfect ingredients for labelling Vellikkeel as a full-fledged family tourist spot.

Scenic views around

vellikkeel-eco-tourism-park-kannur-d59qtedun9

The small hills bordering the water bodies is a common sight when are travelling to the coastal regions of Northern Kerala.  Vellikkeel is situated at one such scenic location, where there are both the marshy areas meant for the purpose of rice cultivation and small hills surrounding them at a distance. You could also get to spot several fishermen folks catching fish in the most traditional methods.

So when you are visiting eco-tourism park along with your family, you could adore the natural beauty of this lesser-known destination. Even being at such tranquil destinations could rejuvenate you. Henceforth, Eco-tourism Park deserves to be visited once booking any reliable tour packages. Furthermore, the path that takes your family to the Vellikkeel Park is also brimming with lush greenery on either side of the road and those occasional small bridges across the offshoots of major rivers flowing through these regions of Kannur.

Peddling amid the Mangrove creeks

maxresdefault

Boating across the mangrove creeks spread on a larger part of its area is one of the most highlighting factors made available for the tourists visiting the park. Your family could also go paddling on these water bodies to experience that rustic beauty of these coastal hamlets. When approaching closer to the mangrove vegetation, you could even touch the rooted outside the surface waters. The mangroves found in some parts of Vellikkeel are fruit-bearing. Like the mangrove vegetation grown at different locations of Kannur. Astonishingly, the district is known for its least disturbed mangrove covers and also being the largest in the state.

Moreover, the sailing would also be enjoyable and create excitement for the kids in your family. You could catch a glimpse of varied sort of migratory birds flying across you and perched at the brims of those narrow village paths. Hence the location can be cited as an ecologically significant location. Even otherwise, the chirping of birds could be only sounds that are going to break the silence of the picturesque location.

Savouring those mouth-water dishes

Tourists who are coming to the Ecotourism park could also relish traditional recipes of Kerala at the eatery set up in its premises. They would serve you with all sorts of seafood and mouth-watering recipes cooked from the fish caught from the lake. Each member of your family may order for their favourite seafood cuisine, which they would love to eat on this one-day trip. So there is nothing wrong in making some corrections in your tour packages, as the food menu ranges from snack called Uruliyappam to the spicy non-vegetarian dishes such as traditional fish curry, puttu (yet another steam cooked rice cake) flavoured with crabs and squids. You may have them by sitting on those specially arranged seating by watching the beauty of the place. This is going to satisfy both your tummies and your soul. In addition to that, the aroma emerging out from the food court serving the local dishes would make you hungry, just like the food streets adjacent to the Marina beach in Chennai.

maxresdefault

Further, the later parts of the day can be spent at beautifully paved walkways on the banks of this tranquil lake, by taking a nature walk. Your entire family will feel refreshed after venturing out for such a relaxing evening stroll. Once proceeding to some distances, the views of the silent rivers flowing in these virgin lands of Kerala would be seen right in front of you. The first one that you notice flowing elegantly below the bridges is the Vellikkal River. Then at some points, they will be merging with Pazhayangadi River and finally to the Vallapatanam river.  That major river and a crucial source of drinking water for the entire Kannur district join the Arabian Sea near Azhikkal Ferry at Azhikode.

In the walks, you will inevitably rush into the locals indulged in fishing by plying in the traditional country boats. Shrimps, crabs and other small fishes are the most common catches for them. If you are interested in those activities, you may readily enquire them about their fishing and other cultivation methods. Adorable benches and long swings where 2 or 3 people can sit together are installed at the banks of the lake for the visitors to take rest. Later the day can be ended on a good note by watching a pleasurable sunset from these walkways. Unlike the horizon spotted at the sea, where you could gaze the sun getting veiled very gracefully behind the mangrove bushes that are going to look darker in the twilight.

The above-described eco-tourism centre is one such beautiful destination that can be preferred by families for a day out, also if their liking is on boating and relishing those spicy dishes. However, if you are more of a ‘mountain person’ and wishing to take your family for an engaging adventurous trip, Kannur has in store for you with such numerous options to pick out from. You may explore them and get astonished. However, that venture is not supposed to end up there. Instead, travel with Gogeo Holidays, who would arrange engaging family trips to such sort of beautiful locations. Book their family tour packages and have that fun and excitement.

Moreover, the solitary islet is all for surprises of the visitors frequenting them occasionally. Given below are the unbelievable facts about the Cinque Island of Andaman at you did not know before.

You could move from one islet of Cinque Island on foot

Andaman tour packages

Even though they are a single landmass, they are comprised of numerous islets, so do the Cinque Island belonging to the South Andaman Island groups. Nevertheless, the most astonishing part of this particular island is that it has got an adorable sand bar by which you will be able to merely walk on foot and reach the other islet. Here the narrow landmass accentuated by a spectacular spread of white sands binds the Northern and Southern Cinque Island. Anyhow, all of these captivating landmasses belong to the Labyrinthine group of Islands. Nonetheless, the entry to Cinque island is only permitted only when you have got the dire permission from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Forest Department, as otherwise is banned for both the tourists and locals.

Catastrophic Tsunami led to the formation of a sand bar across its shore

Sand bar of Andaman

It is a true fact that natural disasters could bring about damages to any piece of land. And it is not just the isolated islands of Andaman and Nicobar that was drastically affected the disaster waves of the 2004 Tsunami that had hit the seashores and unrecognisable. However, nature had more surprises for these exotic islands. The aftermath of the disaster, nature gave a few form and shape to these islands. At the shore of Cinque Island, a whole new sand bar was formed, which during low tides makes it possible to stride past between the North and South Cinque Island. If you are visiting the islands on any honeymoon packages, you both may stroll across the sand bar when either side will be lashings by waves and the views alluring.

Not even a single human had inhabited in the Cinque Island

It would be surprising for you to realise that Cinque Island had not been inhabited by any sole presence of humans, other than the occasional visits of very few tourists. Moreover, a larger part of the island is covered in dense forests making them unfavourable to inhabit. Such a situation is indeed unexpected as the bustling capital city of Port Blair is just a few distances away. So you might have wondered why the islanders had missed to settle down this island at proximity when they had travelled to the distant places like that of Little Andaman and the Nicobar Islands. Nobody exactly knew why such a pattern of settling down in unknown islands was followed.

Crystal clear ocean waters surrounding the island allow you to behold the marine life inhabiting in the deep water

A major part of the sea surrounding the Cinque Island has shallow waters making way for the visitors to gaze at the stunning aquatic life living underneath the surface waters. It is said that through the crystal clear waters, you will be able to watch the amazing visuals of oceans beyond 80 feet. Such a phenomenon can be seen from the beachside of any other coastal cities of the mainland, whether it is Chennai, Kochi or Mumbai. Moreover, being part of the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, most of the plant and animal species are endemic to these islands of Andaman that can be found nowhere else in the entire world. And yet another variety of flora and fauna to which the island is home to, are endangered.

A lighthouse can be seen towering in the island, where no traces of humans had been spotted until now

Lighthouse

The towering structures like that of a lighthouse are usually built in the vicinities where there is the dwelling place of people or to show the directions to the vessels travelling to and fro to other regions via that particular shore. However, the Cinque is in no way related to both these aspects, yet you could find a tall lighthouse erected on one of the three islets located in Northern Cinque Island. As they are built on the tallest of the rocky terrain of the entire landmass that if you had climbed to its topmost point, you could get to sight the scenery beyond them in a birds eye’s view including the sand bar connecting its northern and southern parts. Furthermore, various findings show that the lighthouse of Cinque Island was established in 1972.

The island is home to both innocuous colourful fishes and dangerous saltwater crocodiles

salt water crocodile

Yes, you could spot some very hostile looking saltwater crocodiles at the beaches of Cinque Island. Nonetheless, you do not have to be worried of that and be frightened to plan a trip to the island on a getaway and enjoy the marine wildlife dwelling in both on the land and sea, as they can only be found in some of the shores. Henceforth, when you are vacationing on the island, you must be willing to pay heed to the instructions given by your tourist guide. Without which, you would end up acquiring some bad experiences. That Awesome Trek to Vellarimala of Kozhikode in Kerala with Family

It’s damn true that one could not resist those gooseberries and slices of mangoes dipped in those salty waters and watching the enjoyable sunset moments in the famous Kozhikode beach. On the previous day, we did pull over our vehicle at some parking areas and were walking through those aromatic streets known as Mittayi Theruvu that directly translates to ‘Streets for chocolates’ in the local language of Malayalam. Aah…, then most notably, after returning from the top-notch tourist destinations of Wayanad, which are the neighbouring district and the gateway to the place if travelling from any other parts of Kerala. We were holidaying in the plateau district for an entire week and we did not really feel like returning, as everything was so nice and fun. Each tourist spots of the place were just the perfect ones to choose for a family vacation, just like we had felt and experienced.

1_iqbecoRY-dNS7RHqyWvuGwThis happened when we were to go back to Chennai after our holiday in Wayanad. But luckily, we had one more day left on which we planned to do so something thrilling and exciting. With this motive, we contacted our tour operator and suggested the awesome place, Vellarimala. From the Kozhikode city, the hilly region is at a distance of around 50km en route to Wayanad, but at the bordering village of Thiruvambady. Moreover, we were also happy for the fact that we were again going back to the hills that were similar to those of Wayanad via those alluring forestry yet well-paved roads. Quite surprisingly, our guide was a native of Nellipoyil which is only a few distances from our major destination, so he could direct us efficiently those wild paths. At many instances, we felt that we were fortunate to have booked this particular one from other tour packages. Or otherwise, we would have had to grope for yet another local guide all of a sudden. Proceeding to those dense forest covers of Vellarimala could have been indeed hazardous.

Vellarimala is a reserved forest area, so anyone who wishes to enter and trek to these regions should get permission from the State Forest Department prior to trekking. Our guide made all of those legal formalities easier for us, as before getting to the place we never knew that it was a restricted area and without their permission, encroachers would be imposed with fines. He also informed us, these particular hills are also known as Camel’s hump mountains. We were trying to figure them out that why were they called so. Eventually, while we were moving nearer to the major destination, we got to know about its solution.

maxresdefault

The cab in which we were journeying from the downtown of Kozhikode was halted at a point called Muthappanpuzha. I guess that was the base camp of this challenging trekking station situated towards the Sahayadri ranges and sharing its border with Meppadi of the neighbouring district Wayanad. Every time, when I get to hear the name of ‘Wayanad’ it would consistently bring a smile to my face. I still exactly don’t know why it is so. It might be my love and concern I do have for the travel destination, other than my hometown Chennai. So once crossing the entry points of the place, we started our trekking. We were well equipped with all the required essentials like some refreshments, as obviously there will not be any stores in the middle of dense forests even if we were to pay a heavy price. Furthermore, along with them, we had even carried a portable tent so that we could camp at any safer spots.

We continued our trekking across the forestry paths through dense jungles. For many distances, we only got to jaunt via numerous thick bushes with wildflowers and really tall trees. Also, moving in those trails with the occasional chirpings of some birds and squirrels were indeed rejoicing and gave that sheer ambience of wilderness. I guess, even the sunlight was not able to hit the grounds, such as the density of shades provided by those huge trees in this forest covers. In between the walks, we got to rush into several small streams gushing through the slippery rocks and making their own ways. They truly accentuated the very beauty of Vellarimala in rather an elegant way. Nevertheless, the most stunning of them was near Anathenni. I knew it earlier that Aaana in Malayalam meant elephant and just when I was about to clarify this to our guide, he replied that long back even an elephant had lost it balanced and got slipped across these rivulets, and was named so.

After moving across the charming small streams, we got to meet some north Indian couples who were also travelling by their Kerala tour packages. From that point, all of us were trekking together until we reached a viewpoint. When glancing from that point, some valleys could be seen at a distance. Fortunately or unfortunately, the misty fogs did veil those panoramic views. Anyhow, those miniature versions of clouds high up the sky were now right in front of us!! That did bring an ethereal feel in all of us, especially the kids were getting so thrilled that they started literally jumping out of joy. Sadly, the youngest lad of our family did fell and later he was to be carried off in shoulders, as he had bruised knees. In the time being, we asked the honeymooning couple to resume the journey and assured that we will be joining them later.

Once giving the naughty one with the first aids, we also continued. Then we were in front of the slanting waterfalls of Olichuchattam. It was indeed a unique shape that we had never seen before. The beautiful cascading falls were the first point to be captured in every high-definition cameras coming through this way. We had our limitations to spend much time in this particular spot as the guide was warning us that, they are frequented by wild elephant herds passing by to drink waters. Besides, we had a bruised kid with us who cannot be tempted much. He might become more dangerous than the largest land animal if the former is irritated more. Later in the trails, at Ketanpara we spotted some more footprints of animals. Some other travel groups were busy clicking its images in their cameras, so did we.

Then the most exciting part of this entire trip was Vavul mala. They are known to be the highest hill of both these forest region and also in the whole Kozhikode district. It was almost late evening and perfect for sunset by the time we reached there the time. The views from the point were inevitably breathtaking and spectacular. All nearby regions could be seen in a bird eyes view and by this time, our lad was gradually recovering and started moving with his legs again. In addition to that, a cool breeze was hitting our face bringing out that beautiful sensation of roaming high up the hills. These views were had relieved all our exhaustions of covering those risky forestry paths. So finally, after moving some distance downhill, we got to find some plains. Few colourful tents were already hitched there. We started assembling ours and rested the later hours of the day at that mesmerizing hilltop.

The risky and adventurous trip was made simpler due to concerns and supports provided by our ever-reliable tour operator Gogeo Holidays, who had been accompanying us from the moment we stepped our foot in this God’s Own Country and also for our Wayanad trip. Thank You Gogeo!

Kerala or Delhi – Which is the Perfect Destination for Enjoying the Holidays?

The country shelters people from various communities and religion for years without any issues of discrimination. The nation has been an exquisite instance to the world of showing that irrespective of creed and religion, people can stay in unity under a single roof. The nation is blessed with stupendous 29 states and each state differs with each other in an eccentric way of living and beliefs. Some states are highly developed while some others are still under the poverty line. But still, they are worth to visit because each state hosts different faces of nature. When speaking about the northern states the first name which gushes into our mind is Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. The scintillating beauty of these places will definitely lure our minds. Even though there are many praiseworthy destinations over there still people love to explore the dazzling charm of south Indian states and there are many reasons for it. Wandering In the Hidden Gem of Kakkadampoyil in Kerala with My Peppy Colleagues

Nature indeed cured us, and I really didn’t know this before that eventful trip to those beautiful foothills of this part of the Western Ghats that is most deservingly called ‘Ooty of Malabar’. The lush greenery of Kakkadampoyil was obviously more than our expectations. It’s been some time that our team was planning for such a trip to any hills or some seashores, but got postponed for many a time. Also, the destination to which we were to travel also kept on changing with too many suggestions from all of each of us that ranged from Chikkamangalur to Bannerghatta. At last, it was our HR who came up this enchanting place, as he is also from Kerala. He is always like that when anyone at the office is caught in any such problem, he is there to solve up the issue most diplomatically. After all, he is meant for that.

For a more adventurous option, we thought of travelling by a bus sent by our tour operator Gogeo Holidays. Their tour consultants also appreciated us for taking such a decision, as we did travel via the Bandipur National Park. Moreover, the journey was quite comfortable and peaceful as we had booked their group tour packages that took care of each of the travelling aspects that we were about to face while heading to our destination at this captivating part of Kerala. We started from our city Bangalore by 9 in the morning and arrived at Kakkadampoyil by almost 6 in the evening. Actually, we had plans of saving a day by starting our journey at night and arriving here by early morning. But we could not follow that, as we were to pass through a reserved forest area where night travelling is restricted. Fortunately or unfortunately, due to this Plan-B, we got to witness the greenery of both Kerala and Karnataka. Furthermore, it was located at the borders of Calicut and Malappuram district.

We stayed that evening and that night at a beautiful resort at Koodarinji, as the places to stay in the small town of Kakkadampoyil is minimal. Moreover, from there, our location was only 30 minutes of travel. On the very next day after having a cool breakfast, we started to our destination on an early morning.  The climate then was already a bit moody then. When we were waiting for the bus by which we travelled from our hometown, around 4 cabs came to us as the road leading to the place were sloppy and narrower. Without wasting a single moment all of us got in. There were numerous agricultural fields amid the dense forest covers, that mainly constituted of Plaintain, coffee and cocoa crops. After 10 minutes of travelling, it was raining lightly. The real magic of the hilly destination was seen after that.  There were all misty clouds so abruptly. And as we were going to the higher elevation, we were literally moving into the clouds. Later, our team arrived at a crucial viewpoint of Kakkadampoyil that offered to us some mesmerizing panoramic views, as, by that time, the clouds were eventually disappearing. As the enjoyable activity of tenting was included in our packages, we also made some adorable tents at this beautiful hilltop and witnessed the breathtaking sights. Nature indeed seemed to be in great sync with our plans and time schedules. In that clear sky, we got to behold watch the views of neighbouring districts of Kannur, Kozhikode apart from Malappuram. Beyond that, there were some plain light blue areas. Somebody from our team was declaring that it could be views of the Arabian Sea!!

Might be, such an assumption cannot be left behind, as we were vacationing in the splendid land of Kerala. After devouring them, we proceed to the next tourist spot of Nayaadan poyil. From the point where our cab stopped, we had to trek alongside a forestry path of around 4 km. Strolling such a long distance at a go would never have been possible if we were doing so in Bangalore. But the dense cover of the forest and the soothing atmosphere made all the difference. There were the chirping of birds and some other small creatures evolved out of nowhere, maybe from the branches of tall trees. All of us were chatting and walking together until we reached the massive rock formations of Pazhassi Cave. It is believed that the Warrior King Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja had lived in this jungle vicinity during his hideout living. On further enquiry with the tour guide, we got to learn that the brave majesty was the first-ever Indian king to have fought against the British colonisers. In addition to that, we also got to meet the successors of some tribal populations who had supported their ruler at the times of his captivity a few centuries back. Even some of his belongings can be seen at the base of these caves.

2018041793-1-olwa1632nr0zwlz2rj9o0rhw80ae2wz98eoq6lr9myNow the turn was to reach the magical spot of Kozhipara Waterfalls, those were very accessibly reached by moving barely a walkable distance of 200 metres from the main road. Moreover, even before reaching the spot of the spellbinding cascading falls at a closer distance, we got to catch a glimpse of the rivulets those finally form the Kozhipara waterfalls. The pristine waters or Kuthradampuzha River that gush through those peculiarly adorable rocks were tempting each and every person of our team to dip in them. As the region is under the reserved forest covers of Kerala, we had to pay a small price at its entry point. Even though the regions around Kakkadanpoyil are unexplored and rarely visited, the tourism department of the state had ensured to install some railings for the safety of the visitors. The gushing waters were indeed sumptuous as it had rained for the past few days. So, some of their spots were banned from entering in by the forest department. Therefore we dipped and bathe in the crystal clear waters in some pond-like structures. We had lots of fun playing in the waters in such a peaceful ambience.

For taking us to a wonderful trip to this unexplored beautiful location, we really feel grateful to our company and obviously, we would like to appreciate the efforts taken by Gogeo Holidays for arranging a hassle-free journey by preparing such engaging travel itinerary.
